Feature Film Program
Toronto After Dark's first Thrilling World Cinema program comprises of 13 feature film premieres designed to thrill, terrify, entertain, and blow your cinematic mind! The Festival opens with the Canadian premiere of Special, the acclaimed darkly comical alternative superhero tale and Sundance hit featuring Michael Rapaport. Other program highlights include the Canadian premiere of Retribution, the newest work from the godfather of J-Horror Kyoshi Kurosawa, Frostbite, Sweden's first vampire film, the stunning ninja epic Shinobi, Re-Cycle, the latest cinematic jaw-dropper from the Pang Brothers, a crowd-pleasing German Zombie Comedy in Night of the Living Dorks and two genre-defying and wildly fun midnight films (The Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell and Mad Cowgirl).
But let's not leave out giant snakes from Thailand (Vengeance), psycho killers from Holland (SL8N8) an indescribable Japanese film that will blow your mind called Funky Forest (we kid you not) and a film called Tokyo Zombie that's equally fun, and almost as strange! Finally to wrap up the fest, we have the Toronto Premiere of the award-winning new horror flick Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon featuring horror icon Robert Englund. Fasten your seatbelts!
