Toronto After Dark Film Festival's Canada After Dark program is a showcase of 15 cutting edge Canadian shorts. This first annual selection reveals some incredible talent amongst the country's emerging sci-fi, horror and fantasy filmmakers in the short format. Mixed in the pack are a number of award winning selections including time travel twister The Grandfather Paradox, crowd-pleasing horror comedy Day of John, and with special effects not for the squeamish, Disfingered. Other high profile shorts include Head Shot a horror comedy from Dennis Heaton, one of the screenwriters behind the upcoming Canadian zombie feature Fido, Sombra Dolorosa a bizarre genre mishmash from Canada's master of the eclectic, Guy Maddin, and the much anticipated debut film from Rue Morgue Magazine founder, Rodrigo Gudino, The Eyes of Edward James.
We hope you enjoy watching selections from the Canada After Dark program playing in front of feature films screening at the Festival, and if you are a Canadian filmmaker consider submitting your film, to our Festival next year. For details on the 15 short films playing in this program, download or pick up a copy of the Program Guide Book.
Films in this program are eligible for the After Dark Jury Award for Best Short Film.
