About The Festival
Toronto After Dark Film Festival is a wildly entertaining week-long cinematic event that takes place annually in the third week of October, in Canada’s largest city. We are film-fanatical Toronto’s premier showcase of international horror, sci-fi, fantasy and thrilling cinema.
Our festival program features a diverse selection of feature-length premieres and short films on the cutting edge, including acclaimed new works from Asia, Europe, and North America.
Toronto After Dark’s two-fold mandate is to:
1 - Showcase innovative, independent and international thrilling films, in front of Toronto audiences that would otherwise never get to see these works in a theatrical setting.
2 - Encourage and support homegrown genre filmmakers with a dedicated program for emerging Canadian talent.
Not just about the movies!
During the Festival, Toronto After Dark also gives out plenty of exciting door prizes to audience members, puts on two awesome gala parties, and hosts a hugely popular zombie walk in the downtown of the city.
