OVERVIEW

With Toronto After Dark premiering an unprecedented number of fantastic made-in-Canada features this year, it should be of no surprise that our line-up of Canadian short films is better than ever.

This year we are immensely proud to be jam-packed with award-winning festival favorites (THE LEGEND OF BEAVER DAM, HOW TO RID YOUR LOVER OF A NEGATIVE EMOTION CAUSED BY YOU, NOWHERE ELSEWHERE and ANIMAL CONTROL), striking animated works (LADY PARANORMA, PASO DOBLE), hauntingly beautiful and nightmarish fables (THE ADDER’S BITE, ETHEREAL CHRYSALIS, THE WEIGHT OF EMPTINESS) and a bevy of international and world premieres (PRICK, BLIND SPOT, THE INCIDENT and Spookey Ruben’s PUZZLEFACE featuring Ken Russell and Rodrigo Gudiño!), including two world premieres by the deranged genius behind Blackheads and last year’s FIVE YEARS YOUNG Festival Bumper, Chris Nash: the jaw-dropping MY MAIN SQUEEZE and LIPLOCK, the concluding films to the filmmaker’s “skin disease trilogy”.

With the witty comedy of YOU ARE SO UNDEAD, the spectacular production design of LOST FOR WORDS, and ANAMNESIS, the winning short from the Toronto Film Challenge’s Fall Edition rounding off the slate, TAD11 audiences are guaranteed to experience the very best in genre entertainment before each feature presentation at the festival. Congrats Canada, you did it again and then some.
