Short Description

In this award-winning new sci-fi horror film, five long-time friends uncover a mysterious energy force in the woods that makes them feel euphoria at first but then transforms them one-by-one, into something much darker.

The Buzz

“With a particularly talented group of actors, these young Canadian filmmakers have crafted a taut thriller that wraps the audience in a blanket of paranoia without falling victim to the clichés that plague so many cabin-in-the-woods horrors….There is a bit of DONNIE DARKO here and a bit of Stephen King - but more than anything there is a solid character based thriller that leaves you feeling pretty damn satisfied.”
- Twitch Film

“THE CORRIDOR is one of the most impressive independent films of this year…a masterful science-fiction, man-vs.-man thriller.”
-  Fangoria

“Cerebral,  shocking, and consistently fun….one of the coolest Canadian chillers in years!”
- FEARnet

“One of the most terrifying new films of the year….the film not only scares but makes you think.”

Synopsis

Attempting to restore a friendship fractured by violent mental illness, a group of friends take a trip to a cottage for a weekend of bonding and bromancing, but inadvertently discover a mysterious supernatural force deep within the woods that unsuspectingly imbues them with volatile and dangerous powers. Typical of cabin in the woods stories, bad things happen. Atypically however, Nova-Scotia based director Evan Kelly and writer Josh MacDonald build to those inevitable “bad things” with elegant characterization and an effectively palpable, almost-Lynchian sense of dread. And when those “bad things” arrive and begin to escalate, the results will surprise and churn the stomachs of even the most jaded horror aficionado. Bursting with ambition and intelligence, and extraordinarily classy in its execution, THE CORRIDOR impresses not only as a great Canadian marriage of science fiction and horror, but also as a great contribution to both genres period.
