PLENTY OF FUN MEMORIES!
A bonus treat for fans this year was the record number of filmmakers in attendance. Over 50 short and feature filmmakers took to the stage to introduce their works, host lively post-screening Q&A’s, and join fans at our packed nightly social events. We have put together a single page at our festival website with links to our 2011 festival photo albums on facebook, conveniently sorted by date and film, for fans to easily view and tag anyone they recognize.
We also encourage fans to check out a fun, 4 minute ‘behind the scenes’ documentary, video on Toronto After Dark 2011 shot and edited by My City Lives, featuring festival and venue staff, filmmakers and plenty of zombies at the link.
Festival audience goers were also treated to another series of twisted and funny festival bumpers from acclaimed local short filmmaker, Chris Nash, this year in honour of our 6th Anniversary, featuring the 6 Lessons of Toronto After Dark (Stay tuned as these will be added to our festival Youtube Channel soon!).
RECORD-BREAKING COVERAGE FOR OUR 2011 FILMS!
Toronto After Dark 2011 also generated a record-breaking over 350 published reviews for our 18 selected feature titles this year, and over 100 reviews for our shorts! The unprecedented coverage of Toronto After Dark from the global film press community underlined the festival’s growing position as one of the world’s leading showcases of new horror, sci-fi, action and cult cinema, and top places for genre filmmakers to showcase their new works on the international stage.
