October 20-27, 2011 - 8 Nights Of Horror, Sci-Fi, Action & Cult Movies!
First Titles Announced: MONSTER BRAWL Gala! FATHER’S DAY Premiere! Japanese Thrill-Ride REDLINE!
Toronto After Dark Film Festival is THRILLED to announce its first wave of exciting new Horror, Sci-Fi, Action, and Cult feature film selections that will screen at the festival’s 6th Annual Event this October 20-27, 2011!
THE FIRST EIGHT TITLES REVEALED
The initial lineup includes a number of highly anticipated genre movies including the Opening Gala Film MONSTER BRAWL, a crowd-pleasing horror action comedy about an outrageous sporting event that sees fan favourites duelling it out to see who is the greatest monster of all! Fans will also be delighted to hear that Troma Entertainment’s FATHER’s DAY, the much-awaited cult exploitation film, about a group of misfits trying to hunt down a twisted serial killer, will hold its WORLD PREMIERE at the festival!
Zombie fans can look forward to the stirring EXIT HUMANITY with blends stunning live action and animated sequences to recount the tale of a soldier coping with a deadly zombie outbreak following the American Civil War, as well as the hysterical DEADHEADS a zombie buddy comedy about two undead fellows on a madcap roadtrip adventure! A double dose of apocalyptic sci-fi is on this year’s festival menu. First up, THE DIVIDE sees co-stars Michael Biehn and Milo Ventimiglia dueling it out as survivors trapped in the basement of a New York building, the day the world ends. Meanwhile on the International Space Station, the absolutely stunning film LOVE has an astronaut coming to terms with an apocalyptic event on earth and features a fantastic original score composed by the band ANGELS & AIRWAVES.
Two very unique movies wrap up this year’s first wave of feature announcements. REDLINE is a must-see thrill ride of pulsating Japanese animation, seven years in the making, set in the distant future on a planet where an insanely deadly race takes place. Finally, THE THEATRE BIZARRE is an unmissable new anthology film featuring seven twisted horror tales incorporating the talents of numerous cult horror icons including Tom Savini and Udo Kier.
