Accessibility Policy

Toronto After Dark Film Festival is committed to being an accessible-friendly film festival and providing excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities.

Our main venue partner, Scotiabank Theatre Toronto is operated by Cineplex Entertainment which has an extensive accessibility policy plus a number of assistive devices available to cinema attendees, including those attending the festival.

People with disabilities may also use their personal assistive devices when accessing festival.

As well as having accessible parking, the venue’s entrance and washrooms are also wheelchair accessible. It also has a choice of elevators, escalators and stairs to assist with travel between levels.

Non-English language films are always screened with English subtitles hard encoded or turned on. For English language films, Closed Captions are encouraged and supported by the film festival and wherever available denoted on the festival website.

We welcome people with disabilities and their service animals as well as support persons. A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person accompany them on our premises (although they will be expected to purchase a ticket).

We also welcome volunteers with accessibility needs to sign up to volunteer at our event.

For accessibility queries and requests please contact us at the film festival, and we will be more than happy to do everything we can to assist you.

We welcome feedback and suggestions for how we can make the festival a more accessible event, something which we strive to do each and every year.

Any requests will be followed up upon by a member of our staff.

The festival can be contacted by using our Contact Us form on our website (preferred) or by emailing the festival directly at info@torontoafterdark.com
