WHAT: Toronto After Dark Film Festival is one of the world’s leading showcases of New Horror, Thriller and Sci-Fi Movies, enjoyed by over 5,000 attendees each year including film lovers, press, industry and filmmakers.

WHY: A thrilling cinematic blast for movie fans and filmmakers, Toronto After Dark has been Voted Runner-Up for Best Film Festival in the City by audiences (BlogTO) and One of the Top Genre Film Festivals in the World by filmmakers (MovieMaker).

Each year around 1,000 filmmakers from around the world submit films in competition for a coveted screening slot at our October film showcase, packed full of thousands of delighted audience members, seeking new cinematic thrills and chills! WHEN & WHERE: Toronto After Dark’s 18th Annual Edition runs over 5 Thrilling nights, Wednesday-Sunday, October 15-19, 2025. The festival will screen around 40 amazing new films, both features and shorts, at the Scotiabank Theatre located at 259 Richmond Street West, the largest cinema in the heart of Toronto’s downtown Entertainment District. A number of the filmmakers will be in attendance for lively Q & A’s with the fans following their screenings!

AUGUST 5th 2025 - FESTIVAL ALL-ACCESS PASSES ON ADVANCE SALE!

Toronto After Dark’s fan-favourite All-Access Passes are now on sale. These passes give cinema-goers the luxury of Priority Entry to all festival screenings combined with a huge discount vs regular ticket prices. But be warned, there is a limited supply, and they sell out early every year! Learn more about them and snap up your own here.

SEPT. 24th, 2025 - FULL FILM LINEUP AND SCHEDULE GOES LIVE

All 10 of the festival’s feature films plus approximately 30 Amazing Shorts , adding up to 12 thrilling screenings over 5 nights, will be announced on site here as part of our 18th Annual lineup! Pass-holders will begin reserving their priority tickets.

LATE SEPTEMBER - SINGLE TICKETS GO ON SALE

Individual Tickets will also be available for purchase here at the Festival Site, and In Person at Scotiabank Theatre on the day of a respective screening.

2025 WHAT TO EXPECT

APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE: Most of our thrilling five night, Wednesday-Sunday, Oct 15-19, 2025 festival, there will be two prime time evening screenings starting at approx. 7pm and 9.30pm. Plus a matinee screening on each of the weekend days, starting around 4pm. In terms of age advisory, most screenings are 18A or 14A. For the specific rating, check the Cineplex website when actual tickets are on sale. For a good idea of what to expect, please see last year’s schedule.

APPROXIMATE TICKET & PASS PRICES:

Regular Tickets will go for $15.99.

But if you’re planning on seeing a bunch of movies at the fest be sure to check out the festival’s Best-Seller, the All-Access Pass at just $140! As well as a massive discount vs regular tickets, you get the luxury of Priority Entry to all 12 screenings.

MAIN VENUE: All screenings will take place at Scotiabank Theatre located at 259 Richmond Street West, in the heart of the Entertainment District in downtown Toronto, surrounded by plenty of great transit options, shops, amenities, bars and restaurants for our audience members to enjoy!

MEET-UP PLACES: Before and in-between most screenings , many fans meet up at the main Lounge Bar at our venue, the Scotiabank Theatre, which also has a food menu. After the last screenings of the night, one popular late night option for its convenient proximity and laid back charm is The Friar Firkin Pub, just a 5 min walk away at 160 John Street West.

FESTIVAL AWARDS: including Audience Choice for Best Feature & Short Film, the winners will be determined by an online poll, emailed to Festival Passbuyers during the week after the festival ends.
