Welcome to the 2025 Film Submissions Page of Toronto After Dark Film Festival, one of the world’s leading showcases of thrilling cinema! Our 18th Annual Call for Entries opens on May 8th, 2025.

We pride ourselves on discovering and promoting all forms of international and independent thrilling genre cinema including short and feature films in the genres of Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Action, Animation, Crime, Thriller, Suspense, Cult, Bizarre, Genre-defying, Dark Comedy, Experimental, Music Video and Documentary!

2025 Submissions PROCESSING TIMELINE - WHAT TO EXPECT:

All films officially entered by the final deadline of July 25, 2025 will be watched by our Programming Department by the end of August. You can expect to hear back from the festival in two stages by email:

By Early-August: Submission Acknowledgement: all submitting filmmakers will be notified by e-mail that their films have been entered and are being processed.

By End of August: Programming Decision: filmmakers will be notified by e-mail whether or not their films have been selected for screening at the October 2025 festival.
